‘The Early Shift’ is a handprinted two block linocut, featuring three house martins swooping over the rooftops of terraced streets. I have a family of these birds who return to their nest under my eaves every year and this year it was time to commit them to paper!
Printed onto 10” x 14”, lightweight 80gsm Japanese HoSho paper.
The first block is inked and printed with five colours (with many, many jigsaw pieces!), and the second block printed with black ink.
